Orly's Royal Velvet is a shimmer from the Spring 2011 Precious collection. I seriously love this polish. It took 2 coats to be opaque and smooth. It is a shimmery purple that flashes blue. As I've said a million times, I love a great purple and I'm very fond of blues, so this polish marries those two into a bottle of happiness for me. I think since it's shimmery, it does not look like a 'dark' gothy purple, but rather a rich purple. The blue adds that extra elegance to it and makes it multi-dimensional even in low light.
I took the above picture under a daytime light and the warmer picture showing the more purple was taken in my light box along with the picture of the bottle. Click to enlarge the pictures to see the shimmer, it's gorgeous, warm and a great alternative to a spring pastel. 
It's also this shiny naturally because there is no top coat in these pictures. Royal Velvet is another that will fall in my normal rotations.
