Got a date to-knight?

Hi monkeys!  In my continuing effort to try softer shades, I picked up OPI'sGot a Date To-knight... This color is super pretty; like Barbie princess pink pretty!
It's a light/soft pink creme that's pretty sheer but builds up in 3 coats.  You can still see VNL but it's so pretty I didn't care :) The drying time on this was a bit long, I'm not sure if it had something to do with it raining and the humidity being high or not.

I wanted to stamp over this with black but it was drying so slow I got impatient and then put OPI I Juggle... Men over it instead :) The colors in the glitter/sheen didn't show up but it did show a shimmer of silvery glitter which was nice. It added a little something to the finish which by the way, looks like a hint of jelly more than creme.
But then.... I took that off, did another 3 coats and put Color Club's Covered in Diamonds over it.  I tried to get the reflection in my light box to show the holo flakey goodness.  I really like that effect and am still trying to figure out the best way to work with it.  May be I'll sandwich it between a layer of the pink :) ooo, that's a good idea!

  1. This looks great! I love what the layering did for it and Got a date to-knight is a gorgeous pale pink. I'm not much for really soft pinks but there are definitely a few I love and this one is being added to the list. Great post!

  3. thanks ladies! Sometimes covered in diamonds' flakies won't lay flat so it gets goopy but I really love photographing them!

  4. Oh! And one thing I've learned about Covered in Diamonds is DEFINITELY wait for your base to dry entirely before applying it. I posted an older blog about my disaster with it - it's such a heavy polish with that tinsel and all, that it sunk right into my base coat and ended up looking like ambrosia or something. Not good results lol. Yours looks much prettier!

  5. Julie.. sometimes I feel like flakies look sunk in anyways and goopy no matter what color you use but I may try to sandwich them and see what happens because they do look great when they're behaving!
