Essie: Mirrored Metallics- full swatches

I have the full collection swatches of the Essie Mirrored Metallics for you today! I've had these for a while and have been slacking on posting them, so enjoy!

My favorite out of all of these would have to be Nothing Else Metals (go purple!) and Blue Rhapsody because well... they're unique. The formula on these are a bit tricky; either do one thicker smooth coat or do two thinner coats and let them dry between. I also added no top coat on these swatches. I think the top coat dulls the mirrored effect so I'd recommend sandwiching them: base, color, top coat, color. I think that would help with the chipping as well because they do like to chip. Overall though, totally worth it and the collection is out now. By the way, these look amazing as a pedicure and they all stamp like champs :)

  1. Do you know of a good metallic red for stamping? (or a glittery red) I'm looking for something bright enough to show up over black but having a hard time finding anything. Thanks!

    1. Orly Star Spangled (you can get it still - it's on the classic wall for Orly and avail. on line various sites). Also if you are so lucky to have it, OPI's Dear Santa - has to be among my all time fav sparkly 'full bodied' reds of all time. But if you want metallic with not the full sparkle that Star Spangle has, take a look at the new Germany collection from OPI - the red there called 'danke shiny red' is a really nice red metallic....it should hold up over black but have not tried it yet myself.

    2. Thank you!! I think I did not word that well though - I am looking for a red to stamp with (not for the base). I couldn't find pics of the first two used that way but did see that Danke stamps well over white! I've been wondering about that one too. Maybe once it's out a little longer I can find pics of it used over a darker color.

So far I've bought China Glaze "Ruby Pumps" because it was on a stamping polish list but it is much too sheer (lovely glittery red for a base coat though!) Then I bought Konad special red and tried it over a dark gray & you could barely see it. My next best lead is Jessica "Cinderella Red". It's surprising how hard it is to find one!

  3. Thanks for the tips/encouragement. I bought Blue R...and had so many brush stroke marks, I took it off 2 hrs later. I really thought this collection was more frost than chrome metallic. I wanted to love the blue and lavender (have tons like the silver and gold already). I will give it a try again.

  4. I'm not big on metallics, (I almost typed Metallica) but your swatches rock!
