Nubar: Indigo Illusion + RA117

Nubar Indigo Illusion has been on my list for a while and I was glad to cross it off! I used two coats of this duochrome. It is like a green smokey teal and flashes pink/purple/green. I stamped it using Red Angel 117 because I loved the faces! I put a fimo bow on the girl and a fimo crown on the one next to her. It's like they are on a date! =^.^=   I wore this for about 3 days before I started picking off the fimos.  I wish I could leave them on longer but 3D art starts to bother me after a while getting caught when I do my hair and stuff. I like this mani though and would for sure stamp the faces again :)

Nubar: Reclaim

I've been so excited to post Nubar Reclaim that I think I got too excited and created a busted mani.  Reclaim is a great strong holo kelly green. It flashes orange/gold/blue and was opaque in 2 coats.  In a failed effort to give you more nail art and to try out my striping brushes... this is what happened....

I added a fimo flower, which I liked alot but then tried to add a stem onto it using my striping brushes.... not so much. I took black and Sally Hansen Celeb City to mix together and create a very sad excuse for a stem.

After I messed up on this, I figured I would try some striping with the brushes just on the tips to practice control with them. My goal was not to hide the holo, I wanted you to be able to see that still: so in that respect it was a success ha! Anyways, to make up for this bad nail art, here's a close up of the holo beautifulness that is Nubar Reclaim :-)

China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic and Kleancolor Blue Holo

There is not one thing I did not like about this mani! I started with China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic from the Fall 2008 Rodeo Diva collection.  It's a deep shimmery turquoise that is stunning and has peeks of purple at certain angles.

This would be great on its own but I did this as a full mani and had some more untried Kleancolors to try out.

I added Kleancolor Blue Holo over it. Now this isn't really a holo polish per se, it's a holo glitter in a light blue transparent base. I blurred a picture so you could see the holo fun. I also added a butterfly from my fimo canes as an accent to jazz it up even more. I focused my camera on a different nail from the ring finger so you could see how the holo shows up behind the butterfly, it was really awesome. I wore this as a full mani for 5 days and it didn't stain and had no problems with it.
For sure one of my favs with fimo!

Flomar: Purple with Kleancolors and Cupcakes

This is a mani I did for my friend who is also into nail polish (shout out to M!).  I used Flomar neon purple for a base color. This polish is awesome, it's a one coat polish and purple.. total awesome.  I got this polish in a swap from Brazil a while ago.

I wanted to jazz up the polish so I used Kleancolor Holo Fuchsia (one coat) over so it flashes blue, purple, pink, orange, green- it's rad!

Because my friend loves cupcakes, I stamped a cupcake, topped it with a rhinestone from Born Pretty. But that wasn't enough so I cut a cupcake slice from a fimo stick and put that on.
To put the cupcake on, I sliced the fimo cane with a razor, then used nail glue to adhere it to the nail. I did a thick coat of SV over the cupcakes and a normal coat over the other fingers.
I really liked the way this mani turned out, feel free to click on the images and get a closer look at the color shift in the Kleancolor top coat.

It's always hard to take close pictures of someone else's hands in my light box, but I think you get the idea :-)

Girly Camouflage Mani

Recently I had to come up with a manicure for a party that was Army themed.  I wanted to do a camouflage mani because I had never attempted one before.  I picked out the colors first:

Base is Essie Da Bush
Stamps are: Revlon Espresso and China Glaze Trendsetter

Da Bush is a murky pale olive creme. I used two coats for opacity.  This color is pretty on its own but I needed to jazz it up for an Army theme because a plain color was too simple.

I grabbed my Mash plate and Revlon Espresso (a dark chocolate brown) and China Glaze Trendsetter from the new Metro Collection (A shimmery merky yellow with green undertones). To make the cami mani a bit more girly, I added a fimo flower on my ring fingers. The flower is white/yellow/orange with a merky green center- it was a perfect fit!

I got a request to do a YouTube of this mani/stamping style so I'll be posting that soon.  Really liked the way this turned out and the best part is I didn't have to free hand anything :-)
