Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics: Lip Tars

This is the second part of my Obsessive Compulsive cosmetics review: lip tars! Here's a bit of information about the Lip Tars from OCC Make up:
A stunning new innovation in lip color, OCC Lip Tar combines the longevity of a lipstick, with the ease of application of a gloss. Goes on slick and moist, and dries down to a satin finish. Ultra-saturated in color, Lip Tar contains an unprecedented amount of pigment - a little goes a very, very long way! An intense yet featherweight layer of color that stands up to the scrutiny of Hi-Def Video and Digital Photography, without ever looking (or feeling!) heavy. Meant to be mixed, Lip Tar comes in concise array of colors for a limitless selection of shades made by you!

Like all of our products, OCC Lip Tar is 100% Vegan and Cruelty-Free, and is also free of parabens and other harsh preservatives. A simple, elegant formula that contains Hemp Oil, Peppermint Oil and Vitamin E, OCC Lip Tar feels as good on the lips as it looks!

DIRECTIONS: Apply the tiniest bead of Lip Tar with our #009 Angle Brush for complete, opaque coverage, either mixed with other shades or straight out of the tube. Applying too much product can result in feathering/bleeding so remember: a little goes a very, very long way!

Let me just tell you about how much I used on my sister in law's lips: a push pin head's worth. Not a tack, a push pin! These are so mega pigmented it's amazing.  Onto the colors: (descriptions from their website)

Momento: soft pink/plum neutral

Dangerous: true mid-toned grey, great on stone cold foxes

Pageant: beauty queen pink/fuchsia

Anime: intense no holds-barred neon pink (so neon my camera had a hard time photographing it)

Demure: deep purple with intense fuchsia undertones

Stalker: true, classic, pin-up blue-based red

Rx: primary cyan blue (matches billiard chalk blue eye shadow!)

Ingredients: Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Oil, Mentha X Peprita (Peppermint) Oil, Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E) May Contain: D&C Red #7, D&C Red #30, FD&C Blue #1, FD&C Yellow #6, Iron Oxides, Titanium Dioxide
Because these lip tars are super pigmented, they do stain your make up brushes (best way to apply them by the way). Here's some more information on that along with Frequently Asked Questions. They retail fro $13 and because you need such a small amount, I'm sure you'd be hard pressed to find someone who has finished an entire tube.  I will for sure be using these in the future. They dry semi-matte, they are not a gloss, but you can put a gloss over it to add shine. I've never seen anything like these, I wish every cosmetic brand was this vibrant and pigmented, awesome job Obsessive Compulsive!

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics: Loose Shadows

Recently I was given the opportunity to review Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics loose powders. These are highly pigmented loose powder shadows that pack an awesome punch! My sister in law volunteered to let me use her for a model... thanks sister! Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (website HERE) is 100% Vegan and PETA approved.  The company was founded by two make up artists who developed this product to stand out in an over crowded cosmetic marketplace.  You can read their entire story HERE, it is quite interesting and innovative. The shadows can be used wet or dry, I swatched them all dry. I suggest an eye lid primer first so the powder has something to stick to and stay in place. These are truly fantastic...
(Color descriptions from the website)

Cavu Blue: billiard chalk blue
Saturate: teal with green reflects

Flawed: intense true gold
Lafayette: dirty olive green

Cherry Bomb: vibrant red/fuschia
Wasabi: neon green sheen

Cherry Bomb and Wasabi are super bright! I actually did some color blocking with these two on my sister in law for fun and it looked very cool! Flawed is so gold that it actually looks like a mirror in the container or gold leaf on your lid. The shimmers are gorgeous as well; they reflect light and add depth to the color.
These can be purchased online at OCC Make up and are $12.
