Guest Post: Sarah from Shatter Me Claire!

Today's guest post comes all the way from Australia! Sarah from Shatter Me Claire so you get to see a new brand to the blog today- always a plus! Thanks to my Aussie friend for guest blogging, show her some love and check out her very pretty blog :-)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
G'day readers *waves*
I'm just popping in to show you some goodies from down here in Australia!! These beauties are from Cate Ruby and they are "Hello Yellow" and "Tate". They are both from the latest range called "Lollipops and Popsicles".
Firstly the bottles are gorgeous! Also the beautiful diamonte ring on the brush is removable so if you want to wear it then you can! That's something different.
Cate Ruby is available online from their website and at selected salons in the Eastern Australian states so any Aussies out there might want to keep a look out for it.
It's spring here in Australia so I've gone for a happy dot pattern in an attempt to bring the sun out and leave the cold and darkness of winter behind.
Thank you for showing us a new brand and a super cute mani! Don't forget my giveaway is still going on.
Guest Post: Amanda does Make-up!
A make up post from Amanda!! Show her some love, her tropical look is perfect! Thanks girl!!
Hi y'all! This is Amanda. While Kristin is away sunning herself on a beautiful beach in Hawaii, I'm here to show you a pretty tropical look. This almost didn't happen as I had attempted a sunset style shadow look earlier in the day, but my eyes didn't want to deal with pink shadow :( so off it came and I spent another hour babying my eye, hoping it would quit watering!
I started out with a base of MAC Surf USA from the Surf Baby collection. This color really pops when applied over NYX Jumbo eye pencil in Milk. After applying a nice base of teal I blended the green from the Milani Paint Eyeshadow Palette in the corner of my eye and the blue from the same palette in the crease to darken it up and create a nice shape. I applied these three shadows under the eye as well, blending them together to create a smooth transition.
I used Maybelline's Eyestudio in Blackest Black for the liner. I really like this gel liner because it doesn't dry out, it allows for a nice clean line, and the brush that came with it is pretty handy, i like that it keeps its shape even after washing it many many times. Urban Decay Zero was used on the waterline. I also couldn't pass up the chance to show off my new favorite mascara! The new Maybelline great lash Lots of Lashes mascara is awesome! I love the heart shapes brush and the wider bristles. It really gets into the corners and separates my lashes.
I finished off the look with NARS Bolero Velvet Matte lip pencil. Make sure your lips are well exfoliated and not dried out when applying this pencil as it is a bit drying. I use a sugar scrub on my lips then a nice chapstick before applying this lip pencil to get my lips looking as smooth as possible.
I really enjoyed doing this blog post! This is the first time I've done any kind of makeup/beauty blog and it really has inspired me to do more! Or at least document my makeup shenanigans for others to ooh and ahh at :D
Later Y'all!
Guest Post: Water Mable from Carolina @ColoresdeCarol
I have a great guest blogger for you today, Carolina from ColoresdeCarol.com. She is amazing at nail art and also writes her blog posts in Spanish and English. Check out her talents, Thanks Carolina!!
Hi, gentle readers,
My name is Carolina from Colores de Carol's  Blog and today I feel so honored to show you my work, this is my first time doing a Guest post.
I'm so happy to be here today at Kristin's Amazing Blog, I hope you enjoy my water marble manicure.
I love the color blue on my nails, so I decided to do a water marble with some of my favorites shades of  blues. I started with a base coat and two coats of OPI Alpine Snow.
For the marble effect I used Chine Glaze White Cap and one shade of blue on each finger ended with a coat of Seche Vite.
Thumb: OPI Dating a Royal (Sorry, I just broke that nail)
Index: OPI What's with the Cattitude
Middle: OPI Suzi Says Feng Shui
Ring: OPI No Room for The Blues
Pinky: OPI Road House Blues
Thank you again for  having me here and I hope you enjoy my post.
Hugs,
Carolina.
My Giveaway and I'll be doing a Hawaiian themed giveaway if I hit 1K followers by the 16th!!
Guest Post: Essence Holografics from Trailerhood Chic!
Hey everyone! Check out Harri at TrailerHood Chic, she rocks pretty hard :) Thanks for guest blogging Harri! (you can click to enlarge her collage)
Hey y'all!  My name is Harri and I have a blog over at TrailerHood Chic. Kristin asked for some people to do guest posts and I jumped at the opportunity.  Kristin is wonderful & her blog name cracks me up.  When I sat down for a swatch fest I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for my post.  Then I remembered I'd bought a TON of polishes over the weekend. :D
Three of my new polishes are 3 of the Essence @ Holografics.com (yes it's spelled different I checked the bottle).  There are 5 colors in this collection, but both Ulta's I went to only had a display with 3 colors and only had 2 of each color.  There were no more spots on the display for the other two.  SO, the ones I have are 01 GAGALECTRIC, 03 BLUE RAY, and 04 PRISM@TIC WHITE.  Those missing are 02 LIL@C and 05 HOLOBERRY.
To me, these really don't look holographic, except in the bottle on the nail they're more duochrome-y (yes, that's a word).  I'm not really sure how I feel about these yet, but I'll give you a little info on them.
~03 BLUE RAY (upper left) - This is 2 coats AND a top coat only because I was going to layer the other 2 over to see what they looked like.  It's a beautiful blue that flashes to purple.  Really liked this one.
~01 GAGALECTRIC (upper right). - This is 4, yes FOUR coats.  I definitely think this is better as a layering polish.  Maybe over another lavender, white, or black color.  It's like lavender with a light blue flash.  Unsure of it still.
~04 PRISM@TIC WHITE (bottom right) - This is 3 coats.  Also, in my opinion, better as a layering polish.  I'm OCD and hate seeing VNL with any polishes.  It's an extremely sheer white with what looks like a light blue flash, but in the bottle looks yellow/green.  I'm tempted to take this one back. :/
~The bottom left pic is 2 coats of Blue Ray with 1 coat of the others.  Prism@tic White is on the index and ring ringers.  Gagalectric is on the middle and pinky fingers.  Doesn't really look much different to me & in fact, it makes the blue look teal.
I think I've rambled enough for these.  Be sure to come check out my blog.  I have a giveaway ending mid October you might want to check out. :D
TOODLES Y'ALL!!!
Guest Post: Kelly from Konad and Nail Polish
While I'm in Hawaii, I have a treat for you: a Hawaiian nail blogger :) Kelly from Konad and Polish did some awesome stamping and colors for us! Stop by and show her some Monkey love! Mahalo Kelly!
Hi everyone (: I am super excited and nervous right now because this is my first time guest blogging and I am guest blogging for The Manicured Monkey which is one of my most favorite blogs. With that said I am just going to go ahead and get started and hope you all like my post (:
For this manicure I combined everything I love. Green, blue, stamping, and sponging. I personally think that this turned out super pretty. Only bummer is that my top coat smeared the stamp a little bit :(
For my base color I used Bettina Trees. A gorgeous green with flawless formula that dries extremely fast and shiny. Easily one of my most favorite colors.
Anyway, a big thanks to the Manicured Monkey for letting me post, and I hope you all liked it :)
  • Base Color: Bettina Trees
  • Sponge Color/Blue: Bettina Aqua
  • Stamp Color: Konad Black Pearl
  • Plate: BM201
Thanks again Kelly for a great post! Don't forget my giveaway everyone :)
China Glaze: Coconut Kiss, and Stamping
Aloha monkeys! By the time you read this, I will be in Hawaii on vacation.  Of course I still have posts for you everyday though, because that's how I roll and spoil you all.  For this mani I used China Glaze Coconut Kiss which is a metallic medium purple and was opaque in two coats. For my accent finger I used Nubar Purple Rain Glitter which is a really reflective dark purple glitter and really fun! I stamped using Nicole by OPI My Lifesaver using my Konad Hawaii plate. Then I added rhinestones in the middle of the flowers to jazz it up a bit.  I've used Coconut Kiss in water marbling and it's wonderful so I'm glad I got to show you how it looks on the nail as a primary color. The Nubar is stunning as well with it's sheen. It didn't eat the top coat too much, a thick quick dry coat worked like a charm.  So I've mentioned this before but here's a recap of "news" about the blog:
~I have some great guest bloggers set up for you this week, show them some love and monkey hospitality :)
~My giveaway is still on and kicking- enter and kill a few lemmings
~Sidenote: it's a long shot but if I end up hitting 1000 followers before the current giveaway is back, I'm going to do a giveaway for you with Hawaiian goods (some Hawaiian polishes, chocolates etc.)
Skinfood: Pink Foil Glitter
I don't claim to know everything but if such a thing as a foiled glitter polish existed, this would be it. This is the amazing Skinfood polish is from their Pedicure Sparkle collection. Wow, just WOW!! I did two coats of this Barbie pink glitter/foil amazeness then topped it with SV to quick dry it. I couldn't just stop there, my hands needed more attention so others could admire this great polish!!! I stamped it with my bundle monster 2 plates using black special konad polish. I have never used this pattern before so I was hesitant but it was awesome and I love the intricate design but still being able to see the sparkle underneath.  I may just be a fan of pink and black as it is, but add the contrast of sparkle and the flat of the black and it's a total win for me. Really love me some Skinfood polishes!
My giveaway (doesn't include Skinfood but has current lemmings) I'm also planning on a Hawaiian themed giveaway if the followers hit 1000 by the end of this giveaway (it's on track to but we'll see!)
