Zoya: Vegas Freeze

I've had zoya's Vegas Freeze in my untrieds for a while now and finally decided to use it as a top coat over Joradana's amazing purple.

Simple, but pretty.

I did one coat of Jordana Silky Purple then two coats of Vegas Freeze.  This mani was so hard to capture on camera.  Vegas Freeze has micro glitter in a pale purple base. Pink and purple and blue glitter float around and reflect light as a top coat.  I suggest to enlarge the picture so you can see the great shimmer. It really took the polish to a new color/finish and was super simple to do.  I need to play with top coats more.

Kleanocolor: Chunky holo teal

Recently I put in an order with Beautyjoint.com to get some of the Kleancolor chunky holos and glitters.  This one is super pretty but I think I needed a darker color under it.

I started with 2 coats of Orly's Frisky and did two coats of Kleancolors chunky Teal holo.  In the light it was hard to see the color shift in the holo, so I played with it in my light box out of direct light and changed the angles of the camera.
You can see t bottle though is full of major squishy pretty holo.  I like this mani over all and I wore it for a few days with no problems.  I had topped it with Posche for a quick dry time.  The holo flashes pink, purple, blue and green, it's quite pretty and makes a somewhat normal creme color interesting.

As far as taking it off, it wasn't too bad.  It's not quite as frustrating as a glitter but it is a little more work than a creme or a shimmer/frost.  I like these, it's a quick way to update a mani to make it look different to just to add a bit of pop to an otherwise ordinary base.  Great top coat effect.

Nubar: Iris Dust

I recently did a trade with someone and got Nubar Iris Dust in exchange.  This polish is nuts in the bottle! It's purple and gold with a hint of green all duo-chromed out.  I started with Orly's Frolic and then did two coats of Iris Dust.

Irish Dust is much too sheer to be a base color and even as a top coat, I wanted to do 2 coats.  It's so pretty. It turned purple into gold, green, bronze and changed in the light and angle which you viewed it.

I took it to my light box to manipulate the lighting and try to show you how it changes with angles.  Look at my index finger, it's a nice shimmery plum, then it changes to a gold shimmer.. It's a great top coat and really transforms a polish color.

Another great thing about putting a top coat color on a polish is that it can change your manicure with minimal effort and it can cover up any imperfections you may have had when polishing.  Overall win in my book.

China Glaze: Flying Dragon Neon and Stamping and review

I felt like getting my neon on the other day so I went all out on a full mani with China Glaze Flying Dragon.  Flying Dragon is a neon purple that has pink and blue glitter throughout it.  It is also a top coat eater so beware! It does need a top coat because it dries matte and gritty.  But once you add the top coat, it comes back to life and shines!

I received a rhinestone wheel from Born Pretty to review so I thought I'd stamp some flower vines and deck those out in rhinestones.  The rhinestones are awesome.  I was sent THIS wheel. As you can see it has so many different colors in it, I love it! It usually takes about 2-3 weeks to receive products to the US from Born Pretty but their prices are great. My rhinestone wheel had all round rhinestones and a great size for this mani stamping.

(There's a coupon code on the side of my page of "KKJ61" for 10% off with them if you order.. great deal for already low prices.)

Here's a close up of the rhinestones and you can also see the shimmer in the polish.  The rhinestones are super reflective and I think it adds alot to this manicure.  I can't wait to do more round rhinestone manis!!

You can visit Born Pretty HERE for great nail art supplies.

Dr.'s Remedy Summer 2011 Swatches

Hey everyone! I have a treat for you today! Dr.'s Remedy sent me their new Summer 2011 Collection- Hot Hot Hot Summer Shades!

Let me tell you about the colors then we'll get to how cool and innovative the company is.

First up is Tranquil tangerine.  This polish is so pretty; it shimmers and flatters.  The tangerine description is spot on.  It's not orange or a yellowish orange, it's literally tangerine.  It has gold shimmer in it that looks lemony to me.  It's quite a refreshing color and is awesome for summer.  I will for sure be rocking this on my toes!
This was two coats, no top coat!

Next up is another frosty shimmer called Bold and it's a baby blue.  I almost think that these shimmers look like foils in person because they shimmer so much down the nail from light reflection.  This color is a soft blue and is cheery and light and is described in the press release as "aqua meets turquoise" which is accurate for this! I did two coats and no top. It has minimal streaking, impressive for a shimmer/frost. Another fun and stunning color. I did two coats and no top coat; all that shine is natural.

The last frosty shimmer in the collection is Glee gold. This color has some serious pretty factors happening.  The color of the gold is a true gold, does not look like "fake gold" or overly metallic.   It doesn't look heavy on the nail either. I did 2 coats and no top coat.
It's a fabulous color to wear to a pool party or a summer cocktail mixer.
The first creme is Lovely, a lavender shade that is highly pigmented.  I used one coat for this polish with no top coat, it dries semi matte and is extremely pretty.  It's a smokey purple that is still cheery and happy.  I think this color is a great alternative if you want to take a break from summer neons but still want something pretty and bright.

Last up is the last creme, Nurture which is a nude.  This nude is super pretty, I did 2 coats and encourage you to enlarge the picture to see the pink and gold barely-there shimmer. This nude is just a clean color and not plain because it has the hint of sparkle which adds depth- love it!

Here's a little bit about Dr.'s Remedy and the podiatrists that created the company.

I really love their polish and it's a great value because it's enriched with tea tree oil, vitamins and wheat protein so I don't mind leaving it on my toes for a long time (when I get too lazy to change my pedi)!

You can find order these from their website and they retail for $17. They also have treatments.

Deborah Lippmann: Since I Fell For You

Oh Deborah Lippmann, you never cease to amaze me with your beautiful polishes! Since I Fell for You is a polish I received in a swap.  It is a gorgeous shimmery true dark red.  I'm really beginning to like these rich red colors.  I did two coats and it was fabulous as usual from Deborah Lippmann.

I've received a few questions about the price tag verses worth of these polishes; it is well worth it.  If you really want to have a polish that you will use down to the last drop, a Lippmann is the way to go.

This color reminds me of the perfect red lipstick; classy, sophisticated and conservative but still flirty and fun.  I topped Since I Fell for You off with a coat of SV and it stayed on my nails with minimal tip wear for 4 days, which is long for me!  The formula of this polish is great, not streaky and great pigment.

I tried to angle my fingers differently so you could see the faint shimmer, almost satiny, finish. It really is my new favorite red polish. Also another plus with the Lippmann polishes is that they don't smell strong which really makes it nice when you are painting your nails as often as I do.

Did you notice my blog sale is up?
