My Le Metier de Beaute Afternoon of Healthy Skin

Hi Monkeys! Happy Day! I have a rather long, fun and informative post for you today; I hope you love it as much as I loved prepping for it! :) Onto the good stuff!
Recently I was a lucky Monkey and got the opportunity to experience some amazing skin  care products from Le Metier de Beaute. Now, you've seen me review some of their products before but this is different because it was an actual service provided inside my Neiman Marcus. So the afternoon included my +1 (Katie) and we met Ben at the LMdB counter (more on him later, he's amazing), to get their new (and not yet available) face peel followed by all the necessity trimmings of skin care.

All of the products mentioned (with exception of the peel, which is available in November 2012) can be found on Le Metier de Beaute's website under "peau vierge". Here is the line up of products we used: (descriptions/ingredient list are from website)

First Ben has us wash our make up off with the Daily Renew Cleanser. A bit about this cleanser...

Benefits:
  • Gently cleanses and exfoliates skin for easy makeup removal
  • Renews skin's radiance for a luminous glow
  • How To Use:
Gently apply twice daily a small amount to face and neck and gently massage with a light circular motion. To remove, splash face with water or gently remove using a damp washcloth. In the morning, follow with Daily Refresh Tonic then Revitalizing Anti-Aging Day Crème; in the evening, follow with Rejuvenating Anti-Aging Night Crème or Replenishing Daily Solution.

The DRC has vitamin C, a light pleasant smell (all the products smell light and natural, not perfumed and are gentle to your skin), and has round beads that gently exfoliate your skin and wash off your make up with only a pea sized amount of product.
Next, Ben applied the peel on our faces with again a light wonderful smell and it felt cool and feathery.

Here's a bonus picture because who doesn't enjoy posting a picture on themselves without hair and make up done :) The mask dries to a blue hue in about 15 minutes and peels off.
I've never felt a mask like this before, it wasn't drying my face out like most do, yes it looks like glue but it is completely flexible and we chatted the entire time without it cracking/peeling up/moving- pretty remarkable technology.

Speaking of technology, all of LMdB's products have peptides that are delivered to the dermis of the skin, so for example, even their foundations benefit your skin by penetrating down but leaving the pigment on your top layer for a light coverage. More on that later though.

After we peeled our masks off and washed off some of the finicky bits (best to do a layer that is not too thick because it will take forever to dry, but a too thin layer will be hard to peel off, so be generous but not excessive).

Next Ben pampered us with the Daily Refresh Tonic (apply on a cotton square and pamper your face)  that is by far my favorite of this whole process because it has peppermint, cinnamon and rosemary in it along with being alcohol free but still has a barely there naturally calming scent. Here's more about the Tonic:
    Benefits: Benefits:
    • Stimulates circulation, improving skin color and tone
    • Provides a refreshing and invigorating sensation
    • Leaves skin soft, soothed and refreshed
    • Refreshing natural scent
    • Alcohol-free
    • Rebalancing Complexe a hydrating blend designed to restore, rebalance and recondition skin.
    • Hemolymph Extract absorbs oxygen from environment and delivers it to skin
    • Peppermint, Cinnamon, Thyme and Geranium Oils mildly stimulate with a gentle warming effect
    • Rosemary Oil mildly stimulates and cleanses
    • Cypress Oil balances the skin with soothing properties
    • Anise Oil is used for its cleansing and warming effect on the skin
    • Vitamins E, A and B condition and protect skin

After the Tonic we went back to the counter (oh, did I mention we were in a spa room? Awesome for sure, they're right off the beauty floor) to continue the care with Revitalizing Day Creme. A small amount of this goes a very long way as well and again has that technology built in where it absorbs quickly to the dermis:
    Benefits:
  • Dramatically slows expression line formation
  • Works to erase fine lines and wrinkles, shrink pore size and encourage natural cell repair
  • Reverses sun damage and replenishes hydration to the skin; protects against future sun damage with SPF 15
  • Rejuvenates skin’s overall tone and texture
  • Repairs and improves textured, sagging skin
  • Contains inherit anti-inflammatory properties and the superior ability to reduce redness
  • Ideal treatment for maintaining and extending the benefits of many in-office, non-invasive, topical treatments

  • By the way, check out their Night Creme as well (it's silky smooth but not a serum nor is it sticky) and it's a great compliment to the Revitalizing Day Creme.

Before Ben did our make up (he's so kind btw, and has been an artist for over 18 years, is a brow guru and was kind enough to share some tips and tricks when it comes to applying make up), he applied the Revive Eye Concentrate under the eye.. the trouble spot!
This product felt amazing and absorbed really fast- not evaporated, but absorbed. Here is more info:

    Benefits:
  • Repairs and plumps the delicate under-eye skin for a youthful glow
  • Improves lymphatic circulation and skin’s under-eye elasticity
  • Reduces under-eye puffiness

  • Syntoc Actif + Hydration Plus Complexe is a hydrating protein-peptide complex which penetrates the under-eye dermis and reduces puffiness, improves lymphatic circulation and elasticity. This combination of active ingredients reduces edema and adipose tissue under the eyes.

    HYDRATION PLUS COMPLEXE
HMC (hesperidin methyl chalcone) which decreases capillary permeability to reduce edema or water retention which results from increased capillary permeation
Dipeptide for improved lymphatic circulation to help further reduce edema or water retention under the eye

He then started on our make up doing a natural fresh look:
    The end result was fabulous!
Despite layers of cremes and treatments under the make up, there was no cakey look or feel. Katie and I both have oil prone skin and we were pleased with the "thin" feeling of the products and how they don't sit in your pores or highlight fine lines. The only way I can think of describing it was that all the prep made your skin look like a healthier amplified you, but it was still you.. make sense? No heavy cover up (even their concealer and eye highlighter doesn't build up and slide off).

Queue awkward angle picture in fluorescent light...
Overall it was an amazing 2 hours we got to spent getting pampered and learning about skin care. You get what you pay for with this line, it is not for the drugstore budget but it is much much cheaper preventative measures than plastic surgery. You can click the links to Le Metier de Beaute's page and find out more about their skin care line along with their top quality make up.

Thanks again to Ben for taking the time to hang out with us and share some tips, tricks and a few good laughs!
