Everytime I have tried a ruffian manicure I have failed..... miserably. This is a fool-proof way to do a ruffian mani.
I used the Zoya Naturel Deux polishes: Spencer and Marnie for the dots. It's really simple but looks pretty cool and does not take that long to do. I'm always looking for ways to jazz up a full color mani, especially when the base color is such a neutral that it blends into my skin tone.

Nordic Dotticure
I have an OPI Nordic dotticure today for you guys... yes, dotticure, another one. I told you I was on a roll with my dotting tools. My base coat is Do You Have This Color in Stock-holm? and it's an electric deep violet blue creme. Arming myself with my trusty dotting tool I used Angel With a Leadfoot (from the Mustang OPI collection) and My Dogsled Is A Hybrid which is a great light jade color creme. Great thing about a dotticure is you do 2 different sized dots in 2 different colors and as long as they contrast enough, you can top coat it and call it a day. Easy peazy. What do you think; are you tired of seeing dotticures yet?

Flowers and dots.. and dots.. and dots...
Hey Monkeys! I have a dotticure for you today. I did two perfect coats of OPI Angel With A Leadfoot which is my go to white creme base now. I did some dotted flowers using They Sky's My Limit which is also from the Mustang collection. I like the way the flowers looked against the stark white base, good contrast! This mani also lasted 6 days on me so I was impressed with that as well because white chips and this one behaved quite well.

OPI: Dotticure
Here's a sneak peek of the new OPI collections.... the white used in this dotticure is from the Mustang Collection and it's called Angel With A Leadfoot and the dots are various colors from the Nordic collection (fall 2014): Can't Afrjord Not To (orange), Thank Glogg It's Friday (shimmery crimson), My Dogsled Is A Hybrid (green), Do You Have this Color In Stock-holm?(blue). I really like the color combos in this dotticure, the white background really makes the darker Fall colors pop. I'll have bot the Mustang and Nordic collection info and swatches for you soon and I think you'll like both very much!

Vintage flowers using Milani Color Statement Polishes
Hey Monkeys! recently I showed you the info for the new line of Milani polishes called Color Statement. I'll have swatches for you over the next few days; there's so many, I've broken up the posts to make it easier to digest. I did some nail art though while I was playing with some of the colors... I ended up with a really bad color combo that looks like grandmother curtains or something vintage. I thought I'd share it anyways because I love the base color which is Mint Crush (a super pretty pale blue with green hints and a creme finish). I used my dotting tools and went to town using Mango Tango (darker and more red 'mango') and Tattle Teal (love this one so much right now too). Dotting flowers are easy to do, I've done them before but something just didn't work for me and this. The lacquers though were fantastic, super pigmented, applied like butter and dried fast. You can see the Tattle Teal even covers most of the Mango Tango where the dots over lap so that speaks to it's pigment. This collection is great, can't wait to show you guys the rest of the collection!

Man-Go Dotticure
Hey Monkeys! Simple and eye catching mani for you today- a dotticure! I started with a base of Toucan Do It If You Try (the darker color), then dotted Where did Suzi's Man-go... then the reverse pattern on my ring and little finger. I used a large dotting tool because larger dots show more contrast on the nail with just a glance. Dotticures are super easy. Start with a dot in the middle of your nail, do one above below until vertically it is full (don't forget to leave some space), then stagger dots on the side and don't forget, it's OK to add half a dot on the edges to keep the pattern going. Pretty simple, quick and the result is fun!

Blue Dotticure
I'm a little obsessed with dotticures lately. I started with a base of Glitter Gal Tart Yourself Up and dotted in silver black did a funky french on my accent finger. Really simple, tons of dots for this one. I love the colors... colors of my favorite soccer team :) I'll be wearing this again for the soccer season.

Winter Challenge: Holiday Colors- dotticure!
Hi Monkeys, for today's Winter Challenge I did a Christmasy dotticure. I started with a base of SinfulColors Gold Medal, matted, followed by Zoya Holly and Rekha as dots joined with Essie No Place Like Chrome for silver dots. I am really liking this mani because of the matted gold polish... amazing. It's a simple nail art idea to do for the holidays and looks like you've spent more time on it than you have. Be sure to check out everyone else's manis after the jump!

#33DC - Mani With Same Pattern, Various Colors
Today's challenge was to do a mani with the same pattern but using various colors. I sort of did this... I started with two coats of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons (a great warm nude creme) and my accent finger is OPI Unfor-greta-bly Blue ( a deep blue shimmer), and used Sally Hansen Celeb City for the silver. I then just did a random dotticure. I figured since there are only 3 colors but different combinations, it was ok for the challenge. I like the combo of all this, the blue against the warm nude is a nice contrast with the shimmer and silver foil- lots of different finishes happening. Be sure to see everyone else's!
