#33DC - Shapes

Today's challenge theme was "shapes". I have some more Lush Lacquers Polish Me Silly bottles sitting around untried so I grabbed one: Monster Mash. I did a coat of white followed by two coats of Monster Mash. MM is a pain to apply. I have a mini bottle and I had to fish out the bigger glitters with a toothpick. I think the mini bottle is too small for the large glitters. After fishing them out it was fine: large blue, lavender and green hex glitters and smaller blue, green and purple matte glitters. Love the combo, hate the formula. I then stamped with Bundle Monster plate 406 ... a very cute celtic knot heart in black for my challenge pattern. not too shabby.

#33DC - Artwork Featuring Your Favorite Polishes

Today's challenge was artwork featuring your favorite polishes. I have been sitting at my  nail desk staring at OPI Black Spotted and have been pining to use it with neons, so I seized the opportunity. I don't know if Spotted actually counts as  nail art but if you don't own a bottle, you could use the method that's similar to water marbling and that's art, so..... I used Orly: VaVa Voom (pink), Glowstick (yellow), Skinny Dip (blue). As I do with all neons, I put down a single base of white first, then I took each color and kind of dabbed it on in various sizes and spaces. I then top coated with Black Spotted. I wish I would have taken pictures before I added Spotted but, the concept is pretty easy, I'm sure you understand it. I like the way it looks. It needs super thin coats and mine were a bit thick so I wiped my brush and went back over spotted to thin it out... turns out it cracked. hmm. I'm still a sucker for neons under a black special effects top coat. Below, it's with flash...

#33DC - Mani With Same Pattern, Various Colors

Today's challenge was to do a mani with the same pattern but using various colors. I sort of did this... I started with two coats of OPI Don't Pretzel My Buttons (a great warm nude creme) and my accent finger is OPI Unfor-greta-bly Blue ( a deep blue shimmer), and used Sally Hansen Celeb City for the silver. I then just did a random dotticure. I figured since there are only 3 colors but different combinations, it was ok for the challenge. I like the combo of all this, the blue against the warm nude is a nice contrast with the shimmer and silver foil- lots of different finishes happening. Be sure to see everyone else's!

#33 DC- Favorite Pattern - Drip Mani

Today's challenge theme was "your favorite pattern". I chose a drip mani but only because I like the way they looked and wanted to use my  new Bundle Monster plate with the drip on it :). I don't know if I'd commit to a drip mani being a favorite per se, but having the ability to stamp it helps me like it even more. I started with 2 coats of You Don't Know Jacques from OPI (included in the take ten mini set available now!). I stamped in white then added Piroutte My Whistle which is silver glitter in a clear base... and apparently doesn't show up that well over the drip whites... oh well. I like the drips from the cuticle best, plus it's easier to place when yous stamp versus backwards on the tip to the cuticle.
Be sure to check out everyone else's favorite patterns!

#33DC - Lines

You have only a few more days to enter my Winter Nail Art Contest. Details HERE

The 33 Day Challenge is almost over! I'll be starting a winter challenge so keep your eyes out for cute winter themed nail art. Today's theme was "lines". I used all OPI polishes starting with a base of  My Vampire is Buff (2 coats). I taped of my  nail with striping tape then sponged Chocolate Moose over it then a sponged coat of Goldeneye for some warm blingy gold tones. I like the way this turned out, it's definitely different looking. The colors meddle together well and I'm kind of on a brown kick for fall right now so this fits the bill.

#33DC - 3 Patterns (Sable Collar and BMh- 11\12)

Today's challenge theme was 3 patterns. I sort of cheated... sort of. I started with 2 coats of Essie Sable Collar which is a deep plum brown shimmer. I then used a gold Milani to stamp over it with Bundle Monster BM-H12 and H11 in three different pumpkin patterns. So ya, I used pumpkin as a pattern. It's fall and almost Thanksgiving so I think it's appropriate :) Be sure to peek at all the non-cheaters manis too!

33DC - From Inspiration Board- Navy and Silver

Today's challenge is something from your inspiration or Pinterest board.. Now, if you follow me on Pinterest, (which you should HERE)  you may have already seen me post this mani, as I sometimes post my manis earlier than they show on my blog. I have repinned a picture that is similar to this and I keep seeing it over and over on the boards. It's such a simple mani: OPI I Saw..You Saw... We Saw... Warsaw and the silver accent nail is This Gown Needs A Crown (sort of a suede polish). The top picture has the accent nail top coated, and the bottom is matted. I like it matted better, looks like the suedes. I can see what the repinning hype is about, something happens with silver and a navy creme that just looks great together. Check out everyone else's manis as well, enjoy!

#33DC - A New Technique - Holo Drip Mani

Hi Monkeys, today's challenge was to do a new technique... I chose a drip mani. I'm not sure this is a technique but it sure is a new type of mani for me and I'd call it a technique because I'm not that great at doing designs with my dotting tool. I started with three coats of Color Club's Harp On It, a silver linear holo (picture taken in light box and you can still see the awesome). I then did just black drips on my nail using Milani Black Swift but then decided a black holo drip look would be better so I went over the drip part using Color Club Beyond. I think it's holo overload but would probably be pretty cool in the direct sunlight. Be sure to look at everyone else's manis who participated!

#33DC - Color You Own The Most Of...

Hi Monkeys! Today's challenge theme was the color I own the most of... purple of course. I did two coats of Color Club's Eternal Beauty- an amazing linear purple holo.. Top picture is in direct daylight bulb and the bottom is in my light box with diffused lighting. Even with the diffused lighting, you can still see the great holo come through. I stamped BM315 fish netting design using Milani Black Swift then added some fun silver and black pyramid studs. Not a huge fan of the studs because I like functional manis, but it looks cute. Be sure to look at everyone else who participated!

#33DC - Geometric design

Hi Monkeys! For today's 33 Day Challenge the theme was "geometric design" so I got a little creative.

I first used 3 coats of OPI Peace & Love & OPI from their San Francisco collection. It's a fab duochrome shifter from a gray plum to a steel blue gray... pretty great.

I stamped with a rectangle design using OPI Matte top coat over the Gals stamping plates. I really like this mani. I don't think it would work with a dark like black creme but the shifting color dulls enough to be completely noticeable and interesting to the eye.

Overall, I'd say it was a win. Be sure to check out everyone else's manis!

#33DC - 3 color gradient and pattern- Fall Manicure

Hi Monkeys! Today's 33 Day Challenge is a 3 color gradient with a pattern. I wanted to do fall colors because the weather is getting chillier! I started with a white base, painted half my nail with Zoya Darcy. I painted half my nail one coat so when I sponged over the white, it would be more opaque as yellows are pesky. I haven't sponged in a while so I'm a bit rusty but I used Milani Jiffy Orange and China Glaze IX for brown. I also stamped with IX for a fading effect. This is probably my  most memorable gradient, I love it and it's perfect for fall. I included a picture of the mani before the stamping, Enjoy! You can follow me on Blog Lovin' now too!

#33DC - Europe-

Today's #33DC  theme is Europe. I have a friend who loves all things Parisian, so I took the opportunity to do a Paris mani. I started with a base color of NOPI Late Blu-Mer from the Modern Family holiday collection 2013. It's a medium icy blue that reminded me of the sky so I stamped clouds using Bundle Monster BM-312 in White from Milani, then the Eiffel Tower image from my Fun-2 plate (love this plate) using Milani Black Swift. While it looks quite busy, I love the idea and look of this mani. The clouds may be better suited for a gray color but the high contrast I think gives the mani an interesting look to it. I've also included a shot of the base color because it's too pretty not too!

#33DC - Based on a Pattern in Your Wardrobe- Purple Stirpes

There's no doubt that purple is my favorite color- it's everywhere from my wardrobe to my polish drawers. I may have a problem. Today's challenge is supposed to be a pattern from my wardrobe. I have purple a purple striped sweater I really love and while it is not the same tones of this mani, I used it as inspiration.
I started off with two coats of Essie Using My Maiden Name which has a great pink shimmer to it and is a very cool toned purple/lavender. Formula on this was fine but I want the shimmer to show more! I taped it off and used Sable Collar (a deeper muddy plum) and then NOPI Aren't Families Grape which is one of those purples that doesn't photograph at all purple but rather blue. It's pretty much a blurple anyways. This mani was not that awesome. I thought it was a good idea than it started to fall apart. I should have used all cremes, no shimmers and stayed of of blurple territory. Oh well. Be sure to check out everyone else's challenge manis!

#33DC - Follow A Tutorial

Today's challenge was to Follow A Tutorial. I love watching Cute Polish on You Tube so I did this mani from her channel.  She did a clear base with just the flowers, I opted for In The Cable Car-pool Lane which is a rich plummy red creme. It was quite easy to do, so it's perfect if you're not that great at freehanding nail art. Don't forget to check out everyone else's manis and the original at Cute Polish.

#33DC - Mani Featuring Two Patterns

Today's challenge was to use two different patterns. I used OPI: Peace & Love & OPI as a base color the stamped in Milani's Black Swift using the Fun2 image plate and a Bundle Monster plate for the lines, also using Milani White. I think I should have started with the lines and stamped the geometric pattern over that, but it still looks interesting and in some respects reminds me of high rise buildings. Very abstract. Without the white, the mani looked fabulous though so I may have to revisit it sans white. Everyone else's links are below, check them out.

#33DC - Favorite Brand

Todays 33 Day Challenge was your favorite brand- I chose Hello Kitty... but only because I like the stamping image :).  I started with two coats of Lincoln Park After Dark (from the holiday take ten mini set), topped it with a coat of Snowflakes in the Air (from the holiday trio pack). I then stamped using Milani's white polish. I think it'd look better with smaller glitters, these were too sparkly and great to pass up though. They are holographic and silver round glitter in a clear base. I like the mani even though it looks busy. Be sure to check out everyone else's manis below.

The OPI Take Ten set (10 mini polishes:  Pirouette My Whistle, Alpine Snow, Bubble Bath, Tickle My France-y, You Don’t Know Jacques!, Cajun Shrimp, Big Apple Red, German-icure by OPI, Malaga Wine and Lincoln Park After Dark.) and the Top This! trio are all available now.

#33DC - South America

Hi Monkeys! I'm taking part in the Crumpet's 33 day challenge on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; a new theme each day. Check it out and you can see everyone else's posts below. There's some great nail art happening!

For today the theme was South America. This one seemed kind of obvious for me- soccer! The World Cup 2014 will be held in Brazil, so I did some nail stamping and freehanding for it. The index finger is the Brazillian flag, then 2014 over the next two nails and soccer balls on my little finger. The colors are green and yellow- color of Brazil's Jerseys. I like it, just wish my stamping was more straight for the numbers. Don't forget to check out everyone else's manis.
