Franken: Boy Girl Partay

This is a franken that Mandypants made. It's awesome! I have it layered over.... well.... I can't remember, but check out the glitter! Hex, confetti and small glitters in different colors with a few stars thrown in for good measure make up this beauty.  I want to do this mani again but over a lavender creme. It reminds me of ticker tape from a parade or celebration.  It's cheery, makes me smile and not a pain to remove.. WIN!
Thanks Mandy! I'll have more glitter for you in a while but this one is by far my current favorite :)

Pink Holo Franken

This beaute is a franken from Katie at the Nailaholic. It started out as Wet N Wild Hannah Pinktana which is a lighter shade of pink with micro holo glitter.  She I think added more glitter and changed the color, it's quite jelly too which is awesome.  The glitter suspends in the polish which is awesome as well.  She does some great frankens and she does post them on her blog, so check her out! This was two coats by the way. I tried to play with the light in my lightbox a bit to show you the holo glitter... it is much more holo glittery in person. A great polish, thanks Katie!

Franken: Purple Chunk

Purples, purples and purples! With a dash of black diamond glitter you get a purple chunky glitter franken that Katie from The Nailaholic who frankens some awesome polishes! So this one is a deep purple (almost blackish) base with gold, pink, blue small glitter and large black diamond iridescent glitters.  It is alot more sparkly than it photographs. It took a thick top coat to smooth it out but that's expected with chunkier glitter. It also applied great, opaque in two coats, no problem.  When I took it off it was like a glitter that threw up all over me... I was shiny! It's a totally unique polish and color, something I don't have in my collection.. or even close to it! Thanks again to Katie for being awesome at frankening, and awesome in general :) Check out her blog and show some love!

Franken: Candy Shop Dupe

This beauty is a polish that Katie from The Nailaholic had frankened for me. It's a dupe for the Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop. I love this, it's squishy and looks like an instant candy mani without the major layering. She's fantastic and did not eat a top coat! I did two coats for these pictures. Later I added a 3rd coat to see how much depth I could get with the layering. I like the depth but the pink gets darker and I prefer the 2 coats shade of pink

What do you guys think? I love it and I'm not a real big fan of pink :-)
I have a few more she frankened for me that are impressive as well! Stay tuned!

Franken: Purple with holo glitter

I've been frankening up some stuff lately. Here's a purple franken that I added black and silver holo glitter to. It came out like a grape purple. The color itself is quite mellow and soothing to me. The formula is not too shabby either.. think OPI's My Private Jet. It could be a one coater, but I did two coats.

So what's in this polish you ask? Well, a whole lot of everything lol I used Sally Hansen HD Cyber, China Glaze C-C-Courage, some blurple pigment, clear, some lavender colors.. the list is insane. I also added some thinning drops to it :D  It is really pretty in person, the finish reminds me of MPJ, the more you layer, the more little holo flecks you see.  I couldn't get an accurate picture to show the holo and the right hue and I didn't want to mislead and photo shop it, so here's what you get.

Feel free to enlarge the picture and you can see the holo glitter better.. trust me, it's all up in there!! It's fun and my first real franken where I created the base color. What do you all think? Have you frankened before? It really does take practice!

My Private Jet Frankened

My most favorite polish ever is the latest OPI's My Private Jet.  This delicious brown shimmery, flecky white pieces.  This was my used bottle which was half full (have a back up of this color).

I added black holo glitter to it... then decided it didn't show enough so I added silver holo glitter to it.... ya...

It looks pretty on but you have to look carefully for the glitter since it's such a dark base color. I also added some clear polish to thin it out/add more polish for the glitter.

These poses are modeled by my lovely sister in law :) Can you believe she doesn't really have a regime to her nail care?! So pretty!

Black Diamond: Frankened

I had picked up Sally Hansen's Black Diamond a little while ago and attempted to photograph it... it was hard!

I purchased black and silver holographic glitter on ebay and added some to this polish for fun.

It looks really glittery in person and it's still hard to photograph.  It reminds me of a cross between granite and a night sky.
It reminds me of being in Africa on safari.  We could look up and see the night sky and so many stars and planets, all different colors. I even saw a satellite moving across the sky! You don't get that in California :)

This is my sister in law hand modeling for me while she was visiting over the holiday weekend :)  (she also snagged one of my rings to take home).

If you enlarge the picture you can see the glitter better

I don't know how much holo glitter I added but I promise it's holo glittery fun, check out the picture of the bottle that I blurred.  It looks pretty on and I have put this one down on my list of things to rephotograph in the future to try to show the glitter.

I think it was a simple fun way to jazz up a polish!

Dorothy Who? and a twist

I really like OPI's Absolutely Alice but do not own it.  Instead I have China Glaze's "Dorothy Who?".  I thought I would also add some gold and silver glitter along with some of NYC Pier 17 polish to it and frankie it up a bit.

I started with a base of Pier 17 because Dorothy Who is a pretty sheer blue base.  I used two coats, not cleaned up :) .. what? don't judge me ;)

Here is a close up/side lit, so you can see the added glitter.. click to enlarge it..
Middle finger is ChG DW and my ring finger is the extra stuff added in.. can you tell the different in the tone and the sparklies?

Here's a better picture showing the difference in the colors of the blue now.. it's a bit darker after fankening it and in my opinion, has much better glitter :)

I topped it off with Color Club's 0-60. This top coat is great, on me it works better than SV for when I keep a mani on for a few days.

What do you think? Improvement on Dorothy Who or did I just ruin the polish?
