sOPI: Read My Palm

This color! It as been driving me nuts because I picked up Read My Palm and Ocean Love Potion and they are so similar and photograph so close together that at this point I hope I identify them correctly!

Moving along, meet Read My Palm from Sephora's line of OPI.  It's a dusty green/jade creme and reminds me of a color you'd find in Bali.  It has a very Indonesia archipelago vibe to it.  May be I think this because Bali was super green and is lush... or may be it's just because I miss being there!

I wanted to add a little dimension to this so I added OPI's I Juggle...Men over the top for the shimmer.  I'm still getting used to this polish and it's growing on me.

Then, I used nail art tape that I got in a swap  to tape off some random stripes.  A coat of micro glittered Secret Admirer from Sinful Colors over it, then peeled off the tape strips and voila!

I've never used tape strips before this mani and I thought I'd give it a go/use.  I'm trying out new nail art things, as you will see on my You Tube and here in the blog :)

What a Hottie!

I have a great layering polish for you to try out if you haven't already! Color Club's "Hottie" is a hex and round various size silver and blue glitters suspended in a clear blue polish.  I decided to layer it over Wet N' Wild "Black Creme".  I put 2 coats down of black and 2 layers of hottie.  I wish the sun was out when I was swatching so I could show the glittery goodness.  It still looks really cool in natural light- looks spacey if you ask me :)

The little glitter has a holo-ish feel to it.  Would be a great dark look to wear on a sunny day.  I tried Hottie over NYC Pier 17, which is a rich blue. It's amazing how the glitter stands out on this one too! It has a completely different look to it!  I topped off both with SV.

So, which base do you like better?

Check out Vampy Varnish's giveaway, it's pretty awesome :) here it is!

Welcome to the Sock Hop!

outside in light

outside in sun light

Pink and black remind me of a sock hop dance, poodles and pony tails.  The pink in this mani is Sinful Colors Oasis and the black is Sinful Colors Secret Admirer.  On the black I stamped with Sally Hansen's Celeb City.  The pink is a frost soft but bright pink and applied wonderfully! I did two coats of each color... Secret Admirer was fully opaque in one coat though!  The black has little silver micro glitters in it and when I stamped with Celeb City over it, amazing things happened!

This was the first time I use this stamp (m45) and I like it alot!  I'm not a huge fan of accent nails so I don't have much experience with them... as you may have noticed, this one is way dominant! I like each look separately thought and would do them solo again but not together. This is kinda punk rock but with the pink it just reminds me of a sock hop :) What do you think... sock hop or punk rock?

Hawaii 3- NOM!

I seriously love pineapples.. no really, they're like candy to me! Put them in a lava flow cocktail and I'm set! Now that you know the inspiration for this mani, the color is Sincul Colors Oasis and I stamped in Konad black special polish from OC Nail Art.  This mani is quite cute I think!
The pineapples (plate M29), stamps amazing with the black SP, check out the detail... except don't look at my little finger because I had to re-stamp the bottom of the pineapple :)
I topped it off with Sally Hansen super shine, I avoided smudging, I'll have to try the Konad special top coat.

Pineapples are everywhere in Hawaii, but I have never seen them on nails... I'd like to think I'm starting a trend in the islands ;) Have you guys checked out the new tab I added to the site? :)

***for those who have not followed, now's your chance... if I get up to 50 followers by Friday, I'll be bringing back Hawaii swag for a give away and I've found polish exclusive to Hawaii!! Spread the word! ***

Which was First?

Ok, so these were so awesome that they were hard to photograph outside- major glare! So I took the party inside and took pictures.  These two colors are China Glaze from the Romantique collection.  I have to say, I want to get more from these because these babies are amazing alone and ideal for stamping! So here is what I did..
Index and ring fingers: bottom coat was the blue/gray color- Adore and stamping was in purple hue- Joy
Middle and little fingers: bottom coast was the purple hue- Joy and stamping was in blue gray- Adore

After I did this, I honestly had to stop and take a double look at this mani... I had forgotten which color I laid down first on each finger! Normally I have no problem knowing which color I stamped with but... these are so pigmented and the design is so geometric it puzzled me for a few minutes! I always get compliments when I wear this pattern so I thought I'd bring it back but with a metallic.  The last picture is when I matted it out with Essie's Matte about you.  Even matted it still shines like crazy! Really cool!
