Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Multi-Colored Stamping!

So, I've MSMD one mani already from Rin at Rin's Nail Files but I HAD to try this one out:
I started with my go to white of Milani White On The Spot with an accent finger of Zoya Song and the black is Milani Black Swift. I started with two coats of the white which you could totally do one coat, it's hands down my favorite white ever. I loved this mani for my favorite soccer team :) All of my white, blue and black manicures are usually done for soccer games, it's easy to be inspired that way :)
Rin has some fantastic multi colored/layered stampings, check her out. Don't forget to look at everyone else's Monkey See Monkey Do manis! These ladies are talented!

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Love Letters

This mani is inspired by Laurie at Dressed Up Digits. Recently Laurie lost her father to cancer. I started with a black base and used China Glaze Swanky Silk (index and little finger) and Unpredictable for the middle fingers stamped using BM311 plate. I love that the Bohemians stamp over black and you get a very interesting look. I love it even more that I'm able to do this mani for Lauie as she is really inspirational and has become a great blogger friend. The mani looks like a collage of love graffiti :) It's a simple yet meaningful mani and who doesn't like black with pretties stamped over it :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Foils, take 2

So I'm a total cheese ball today and am using a previous MSMD mani from last week for my mani this week .. I changed it up of course. So last time you saw me use black polish and the blue foil, this week I played around with using silver iridescent foil as well. I wore this to a soccer game (Go Earthquakes!) and their colors are blue/black/white so this seemed appropriate to try out again. These pictures are taken in the sun and I blurred the bottom one so you could see the color spectrum, although
I have to admit, that they look much more shiny and multi-dimensional in person; almost too shiny to pick up on camera, but you get it. Loved this mani. I want to do a weave pattern that looks like my ring finger. A few other tips I picked up from foils this time: don't be afraid to put the glue on thick or else you get bald spots (see little finger), In A Hurry Top Coat does not wrinkle the foils like SV does (win!). It's still wrinkly but nowhere near as bad as SV. I have the top coat in the pictures. The solo picture here is outside in the shade, just to show you cooler tones. Love foiling, and can guarantee you will be seeing more of it :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Robin Moses Inspired Mani

My Monkey See Monkey Do Monday Mani was inspired by Robin Moses and her animal striped mani using foils and black. I really haven't played much with my art brushes so it was really just an experiment. Here's how it looked...
I did two coats of Milani's awesome Black Swift followed by a coat of SV to quickly dry it. I took a striping brush and some of the Dollar Nail Art glue and did random stripes across my nails. As much as I would love to have done animal print stripes, random just seemed easier and more my artistic talent for the moment. I waited for the glue to get clear, then I pressed some of the foil onto the nail and it stuck! I want to see if there is a way to stamp with the glue, then foil. I'll try this out soon as this would make for a really cool zebra stripe seeing how I can't freehand anything :) I'll recreate this mani again for soccer next weekend but I'll throw in some silver foil as well. It's really eye catching and you don't have to worry about the foil wrinkling this way, which is a huge plus!

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Matte\Glossy Zebra

I've been wanting to do this mani for a while now from Natalie but I changed it up a bit. I started with 2 coats of Milani Black Swift then used Essie Matte About You followed by stamping zebra in the Black Swift again. It's quite the awesome effect in my opinion. It reminds me of embossed velvet. It's quite the easy mani to do and it has a cool look if you want that black manicure, or dark manicure, but want a bit of sateen finish to it a la stamp. I'm big on different textures and this mani hits the spot! Plus it's easy and that's always a huge plus, you don't have to worry about your top coat smearing your stamped image because there is no top coat!

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Skittled Flip Flops BM 309

First off let me just say I copied Kirsten from the Geeky Owl who in turn copied this mani from A Girl and Her Polish so yeah, popular cool mani that's easy to do. I started with all Bettinas, L to R: Aqua, Cotton Candy, Peppermint, Art Deco Yellow and used the new Bundle Monster plate 309 to stamp with black Konad polish. It's a super simple design but still really cute. I honestly think I should have gone a little more outside the box and did neons for summer instead of pastels but that's only because I'm neon obsessed :)
Kudos to both ladies :)

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Barbed Wire BM 323

For this mani I copied Laurie at Dressed Up Digits... She's sort of amazing :)  I started with two coats of Sally Hansen Wet Cement then sponged Milani Signature Gold on my tips followed by Milani Black Swift on my tips and then.... it looked too dark. So I sponged over the black with Wet Cement to lighten it up. After it dried (didn't top coat, just waited) I stamped barbed wire from BM 323 with Black Swift.. then top coated. Phew! I don't know how Laurie does it! Check out hers:

Don't forget my giveaway is up and live, you could win the new bundle monster plates, OPI Minnie Mouse collection and more!

Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Pure Ice Vinyl Remix (review)

I have something very cool today for my Monkey See Monkey Do Monday mani..  I saw Dori at Kiss My Acetone do multi colored nails with the Pure Ice Vinyl Remix. I have a review for these as well today. Check it out...
So what's cool about these is that they're duos: a white base (creamy and opaque with no streaks in one coat) and a crackle with color in the other bottle. Here's the colors they come in:
Glam Rock  Rock Star  Vintage Remix  Emcee Me  Rave DJ Spinner
Like Dori did, I swirled each color on over the base and created a little pattern (she did more of a diagonal design). The formula is amazing and shatters perfectly like the other Pure Ice Crackles do. I'm not really sure how these work but it's quite awesome. I love the fact that you don't have to sponge or paint your color *then* do a crackle coat, you just do a single coat of the white that comes with your color then you can come up with a great design. To see the polish in action, check out Jen's Painted Tips video. Also, you can check out the rest of the Monkey See Monkey Do Manis on my Pinterest board. You can find these at Wal-Mart and online  starting in May so keep an eye out.
