Monkey See Monkey Do Monday: Pure Ice Vinyl Remix (review)

I have something very cool today for my Monkey See Monkey Do Monday mani..  I saw Dori at Kiss My Acetone do multi colored nails with the Pure Ice Vinyl Remix. I have a review for these as well today. Check it out...
So what's cool about these is that they're duos: a white base (creamy and opaque with no streaks in one coat) and a crackle with color in the other bottle. Here's the colors they come in:
Glam Rock  Rock Star  Vintage Remix  Emcee Me  Rave DJ Spinner
Like Dori did, I swirled each color on over the base and created a little pattern (she did more of a diagonal design). The formula is amazing and shatters perfectly like the other Pure Ice Crackles do. I'm not really sure how these work but it's quite awesome. I love the fact that you don't have to sponge or paint your color *then* do a crackle coat, you just do a single coat of the white that comes with your color then you can come up with a great design. To see the polish in action, check out Jen's Painted Tips video. Also, you can check out the rest of the Monkey See Monkey Do Manis on my Pinterest board. You can find these at Wal-Mart and online  starting in May so keep an eye out.

China Glaze: Rainstorm

I've had China Glaze Rainstorm in my untried for such a long time, it was about time it got its turn to be used :) Rainstorm is a medium blue jelly with blue and silver shimmer in it. I had a very hard time getting a good picture of the shimmer, but it's there and you can see the jelly shows nail line of course (this was 2 coats). I added Julep Vanessa over it which is a top coat packed with iridescent glitter. It seemed to fit over rainstorm because it looked like rain drops to me. You can see the multi color from the iridescent: blue, pink, green, silver. Really like the blue jelly and soft glitter combo, quick and easy to add some flare to a current mani.

Dollish Pollish: Fat Guy In A Little Suit

Oh Dollish Polish, how I love you so much. This is Fat Guy In A Little Suit. It's a sheer champagne pearly base with large blue hex, medium seafoam hex and small green and blue hex glitters. I did two coats for these pictures. It wasn't hard to get glitter onto the nail and I really love the combo of glitter in this one against the champagne pearl base. I would love to layer this over a nude or a taupe so I'll put that on my imaginary list ;-) I have one more Dollish Polish to show you as well, but that's for later.. I know, I'm teasing you but it will come up soon. What do you think about the indie polish rage? So far I'm quite impressed.

Guest Post: Erika from Polish Fixation! (Pink and Polkas!)

YAY! Erika is back guest blogging for the monkeys! Check her out, she's awesome and on pinterest, facebook and twitter :) Thanks again Erika!

Hi all!  My name is Erika and I have a nail blog called polish fixation.  I was excited when Kristin asked if I'd like to have a guest post here at her Manicured Monkey blog and of course I couldn't say no!

I do all sorts of posts over on my blog, much like you find here on Kristin's blog.  I try to mix it up and offer swatches, stamping, and other nail art techniques like water marble, splatter, etc.

Today I would like to show you a recent stamping mani I did, which I thought was really cute!

This is a matte (suede looking matte) mani that started off with Cherimoya Matte-N-A polish in "Rom Com".  If you haven't tried any of polishes from this line, I highly recommend them!  I love the color but felt it needed something more.

I grabbed my DRK-A large stamping plate and Konad special polish in white to do the dot pattern as you see pictured.

I was really happy with this mani and it was super fun to wear!

If you like what you see in this post and would like to see what else I have to offer, you can find me via any of the following links:

Big thanks to Kristin for hosting this post and asking me to appear on her wonderful blog!!

Julep: Demi with Girly Bits: January Morning

Oh man, Pam from Girly Bits kills me with her awesome polishes LOL. This is two coats of Julep's Demi which is a dark wine red creme with great application and shine.  I added one coat of Girly Bits January Morning over Demi. January Morning is from the Calendar Collection and is a top coat that adds so much spice to a mani. JM has blue iridescent shimmers that are just amazing on the nail. I took a quick video of it for you so you could see the shine off of it. I love seeing shiny polishes in motion :)
