Fingper Paints: Project Runway & Hard As Steel Collections

Finger Paints has 2 collections launching in April at Sally's... Project Runway and Hard as Steel (silver caps).. They're all great formulas, details below...I've combined the two in swatches for you... enjoy!!
Thank You Berry Much-This one feels a little fall, but it's another winning formula so I'll take it straight into my summer.
Peek A Hue- Hot perfect for summer orange. A little on the thick side, but worth the slower application.
I Have The Painters Hue- If I had to get one plum, this bottle is it. It's got the perfect finish, and is like butter.
Kiss Me Like Hue Mean It- Ugh, another perfect formula. It's squishy, opaque red, bright but beautiful.
Lavender Brushstrokes- Be still my purple loving heart. It's grape goodness in a bottle.
A P-Ink Mess- Truly, nothing messy about this juicy magenta pink. It's squishy, and applies itself.
Party Teal Dawn- I personally adore the antique jaded teals and this one is two coat smooth beauty.
50 Shades of Ashlehy- by itself its an interesting green washed shimmer... but over black, white, lavender love and alone you can see how the different base colors really bring out different facets in this sheer shade.
Lavender Love- I do so LOVE this lavender. Perfect two coat coverage and a gorgeous lavender shade.
Beverly's Touch- Get. This. Gold. AMAZING. Beautiful coverage, beautiful color. Smooth, gilded perfection.
My Best Self-Portrait- Another chameleon! But this nude with subtle shimmer is a stunner. Two buttery coat coverage!
Stop! Impasto!- slate gray shimmer indoors and a milk chocolate stunner outside. Love this one and the formula is perfection!
Shut The Front Salvador- I love this type of pink. Medium bubblegum, smooth two coat coverage. Go light, its a little thick.
Ink You Cute- Soft opaque pink - another easy two coater.
Blushing With Excitement- Pretty pinked nude. Two coats of easy coverage.

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July to everyone who celebrates it! I have been rocking this mani all week, I originally designed it for the US Men's World Cup soccer team on Tuesday and have kept it on because well... it's kinda rad.
I started with a white base on all the nails because I wasn't sure which way I was going... for the blue I used Zoya Ling which isn't  a perfect American blue but I like that it's lighter in color. The red is Coca-Cola Red from OPI and the white is the amazing Finger Paints Paper Mache. I added some chevron stripes using vinyls as templates then pulled out the rhinestones! I went a bit overboard on my index finger but that was the first one I did so I didn't know any better :)  I like the way the 3 silver stars look on my ring finger. On my right hand I have everything opposite, so I have 3 blue nails and 2 chevron striped. I love doing this when wearing a skittle mani, makes it more interesting to opposite the pattern. I have a few more for you that I'll keep posting over the weekend... it is after all, a holiday weekend full of slacking :)

Finger Paints: Dream I Can Fly + BM H10

I have an Easter mani for you today! I used Finger Paints Dream I Can Fly which is a great minty blue creme (2 coats, great formula!) and stamped using Konad white polish and Bundle Monster plate BMH10... easter eggs, bunny, an egg with legs and a crown which I put cute blue flat round studs on the tips. it's cute, I like the large egg pattern but my favorite would have to be the chick and the eggs, it is easy to glance at it and know what the image is and what it stands for. All in all, a cute easy  mani for Easter!

Finger Paints: Pastel Rain- swatches

Hi Monkeys, I have Finger Paints' new collection for you called Pastel Rain and it's perfect for spring time and Easter! You can find out more about their collections online or follow their Facebook page. You can find these at Sally's Beauty and they should be out now but they're limited edition so get them while you can!
Crystal Springs is a silver shredded glitter topper that has mall blue and yellow round glitters mingled with holographic shredded larger pieces.
Dream I Can Fly is my favorite of the collection, it's a perfect minty blue creme and the formula is great, opaque in 2 coats.
Shower With Flowers is a green and silver glitter topper. Matte lime green hexes mingled with small lime bar glitters and even smaller silver round glitter.
Mistful Thinking is such a cool color. I liked it much more on the nail than in the bottle. It's a lime green-yellow creme that is opque in 2 coats, very unique color.
Pink of Pixie is a glitter topper made of matte medium hex glitters in pink, small pale pink bar glitter, small round holographic silver glitters, such a pretty topper!
Springtime Bloom is a soft pink creme that is still pastel but bright and cheery, not dusty. Application was great with two coats for full opacity.

Final thoughts on this collection is I like it a lot, it is cheery without looking like pastel chalk.  The glitter toppers can go over any of the colors even pink on pink or green on green and you can still see the glitters pop. Plus, I like Finger Paints' handle, it's great to hold onto for manis. :)

Finger Paints: Vivid Reflection

Hi Monkeys! I have a flakie for you today. One of the prizes in my 3 year blogiversary giveaway is the entire set of the new Finger Paints flakies. Thsi one is Vivid Reflection. It has some peach, violet, magenta and blurple flakes in it. I did only one coat but when I do wear flakies, I like lots and lots of them.... this would require probably 3 coats for my taste. Not bad however, better over black I'm sure. Be sure to check out my Giveaway!

Finger Paints: Abstract Attraction and some layering

Hi Monkeys, today I have for you one of the new Finger Paint flakies- Abstract Asylum. I think this one will turn out to be my favorite but we'll see. I love the blue and orange\red flakes that shift to a green\yellow. It's also pretty dense so you don't have to worry too much about not having enough, I did one coat but feel free to do two if you want lots of flakies. I layered an old FP flakie, Asylum, over it for even more color and I love this combo, but it's kind of hard to go wrong with Asylum because it has the blues and yellow flakes but it shifts much more and creates a firey display on the nail. My base is NOPI The Blue is So You from the new 2014 additions, it's a deep deep navy.

Finger Paints: To-Teally Hot & Movie In The Park with CH49

This mani was so much fun to do... I love pirates! I used To-Teally Hot is a perfect dusty teal creme that was opaque in two effortless coats (it's also quite shiny). I took Movie in the Park and did a pinky accent. As you can see, it's quite opaque on its own (that's one coat over To-Teally Hot). Movie In The Park is fuchsia and blue micro glitter in a clear base. I stamped using the new Cheeky CH49 plate which is all pirate themed and awesome! I like the pirate stamped skittles, its something different and new for me :)
I have a few plates from Cheeky that I have yet to do manis for you with so I'll get to those for you along with ones that they preview so you can see the new designs.

Finger Paints: Flip Flop Fuschia, Late Night Rendez-vous & CH54

Here's another mani using the Finger Paints from Summer 2012: Flip Flop Fuschia and Late Night Rendez-vouz.  FFF has a bit of a "rubbery" looking finish to it as you can see in the top picture with no top coat. The formula was fantastic and two coats was plenty for full opacity. I did an accent nail of Late Night Rendez-vouz which is a sparkly steel blue that is super opaque in two coats and again with great application/formula. I stamped using the Cheeky 54 with black and white Milani polishes. I like this design with the shoes and the little black dress... very cute indeed! You can check out Cheeky on Facebook to see when this collection comes out, and the Finger Paints are at Sally's and online and retail for $5.29 without a beauty card.

Finger Paints: Sexy Sundress & Beach Bound (funky french)

Finger Paints has a new summer collection out Summer In The City (see the press release here). First of the 6 I have for you is a funky french I did using Sexy Sundress and Beach Bound. Sexy Sundress is a dusty lime green with yellow undertones to it. It's a little thick and you could do two thin coats or one thick coat for full opacity. I like it, I don't have anything like it in my collection. Beach Bound is along that same line of dusty/muted purple creme and the formula was thick but thinner than SS. I liked the idea of a funky french with these two but wish I would have done the funky french in skittles and not just had one accent finger. I have more from this collection tomorrow for you as well, stay tuned :-)

Stamping Sunday! 3 colored mani with spring flowers

This week's stamping challenge was to use three colors for a mani.  I chose to go a big springy this week using Finger paints Lemon sour ( a yellow creme ), and stamping with Bettina Bonfire (a coral red) and Aqua (creme) with my cheeky plate 16 in a flower design.  This mani isn't too fancy but I do like the multi colored stamping and it's been a while since I've done it and I wanted to play with my new Bettinas :) My top coat smeared a little bit and my middle finger didn't stamp perfect but overall, you couldn't tell unless you looked super close. One of the things I liked best about stamping with Bonfire and Aqua is when the colors mixed, they created a purple color, which was really cool and nice that it blended the lines.  All in all it was a cute and easy mani that rose to the challenge!

Finger Paints: Gumdrops and Lollipops- Swatches/Review

I have the Finger Paints Gumdrops & Lollipops collection swatches and review for you today. This is one serious spring collection, the colors are all soft and bright hues with two shimmers. Here's a break down of the colors:
Blue Raspberry Taffy: A bright blue creme that was opaque in two coats and quite beautiful.
Choco Mint: A minty green creme that was opaque with two coats and no problems. (BTW, love this name!)
Circus Peanuts: A perfect peach creme for spring. I love this one, opaque in two coats and unique to my collection.
Lemon Sour:  A bright yellow creme. This one had application like usual yellow cremes, a bit streaky but with a steady hand, it builds up nicely.  I used 3 coats. Still a much easier formula than many yellow cremes.
Grape Gumdrop is a smokey purple with blueish big shimmer.  Two coats and it was perfect. It would be a great base for some spring flower nail art.
Pop Rock Pink is a shimmery coral pink with light pink flecks of shimmer. It was a little bit of a jelly and sheer so there was some VNL but this would make a great glitter sandwich (I'll have to try that).

The Gumdrops and Lollipops collection is available in March for $4.99. You can order ONLINE and you can follow Sally's on Facebook (they carry the Finger Paints brand).

L'Oreal: VIP Status + Finger Paints Motley.. Matted

This mani was rad. I started with two coats of L'Oreal VIP Status which is a dark steel gray that has micro shimmer in it.  Application was good and a positive first impression for L'Oreal polishes. I wanted to do something more to it so I grabbed Finger Paints Motley which is a blue and green flakey and did one coat then added Essie Matte about You. I love how this mani turned out. You can see a little bit of shrinkage because I took the picture on day two of wearing the mani so with the matte finish I had a bit of shrinkage/tip wear. I really like the way matted flakies look though.

My giveaway was extended and stuff was added to it :)

Finger Paints: Twisted

My friend picked up 4 of the Finger Paints new Special Effects Collection (see press release here). Twisted is my favorite from this collection. I love the neon green, blue and the orange and slightly gold/yellow flakes. I layered it over Wet N Wild Black Creme and one coat of Twisted. I wanted to see how this compared to Cult Nails' Clairvoyant so I did a wheel... from left to right: Clairvoyant, 2 coats twisted, motley & asylum, asylum and twisted (I think that's what I did anyways). But you can see that the last one and the second from left are creeping up on Clairvoyant as "close enough" dupes. pretty awesome if you ask me. Tomorrow I have 3 of the OPI Holland polishes for you to check out.
